¡Tenía muchas ganas de hablar de este maravilloso país!

Hice este viaje con mi madre en 2016 y fue uno de los mejores destinos de mi vida. Los colores, el clima, las vistas, el agua del mar, pero sobre todo... ¡LA COMIDA Y LA GENTE!

Realmente creo que no he sido más feliz en un viaje, era salir por la puerta del hotel y gente que no me conocía de nada me daba los buenos días, me saludaban, me preguntaban qué tal estaba o me preguntaban de dónde era. Un día, mi madre y yo estábamos comiendo en nuestro restaurante favorito de Condado, cuando salimos a tomarnos el café a la terraza y presenciamos una escena de lo más peculiar y humana: en una calle de un solo sentido con atasco, un turista se paró a hacerle una foto a un coche descapotable y el conductor, sorprendido, se bajó del coche deprisa (yo pensé que iban a tener una discusión porque en Madrid los atascos perturban a la gente...). El hombre cerró la puerta y le dijo amablemente al turista que hiciera cuantas fotos quisiera a su coche. Se había bajado para que en la foto no saliera él y mientras tanto, todos los coches detrás suyo, al ver que no avanzaba, no mostraron ni un atisbo de queja, simplemente esperaron a que el turista terminara la foto y el conductor arrancara de nuevo. Algo así, en Madrid, o si me pones, en cualquier ciudad del mundo (al menos que yo conozca) sería impensable, pero en esta maravillosa isla hay otro ritmo de vida y otro "mood" como me dirían mis amigos de Cape Cod. 

Cuando me preguntan por Puerto Rico, no sólo digo: "es El Caribe, naturalmente que es maravilloso", sino que cada rincón tiene magia, tiene solera, y desde que estuve allí me noto un poco más feliz. Además de más anécdotas que ya iré contando, todo aquel que pudiera hacerte el día un poco más relajado, regalarte una sonrisa o ayudarte con todo lo que estuviera en su mano, lo hacía. No se si los factores son el clima, que es una isla y al fin y al cabo el trato es más cercano o que éramos españolas y les caíamos bien, pero sí tengo claro que no he conocido lugar en el que la gente sea más humana. Y eso es lo que, al fin y al cabo, más hace falta en el mundo. 

One day, my mom and I were having lunch in our favorite restaurant from Condado, when we came out outside the terrace to have our coffee, we witness a most peculiar and human scene: at that street, only one way ant with traffic jam in that moment, a tourist stoped to take a picture of a convertible car and the driver was surprised and he dropped off the car quickly (I thought that they were going to start a discussion because in Madrid the traffics jams disturb people...). The man closed the car door and he told the tourist kindly that he could take the pictures that he wants of his car. He dropped off the car because he wanted for the tourist not to be on the car in the picture and while this happened, the whole street behind him, crowded of cars, when the saw that he didn't moved, they didn't complained nothing, they only waited for the tourist to finish the photo and for the driver to start the car again. In Madrid something like that, or even in any city of the world (unless I know) it would be unthinkable, but in this greatest island there is another life rhythm and another "mood" as my Cape Cod's friends said. 

When someone ask me about Puerto Rico, I just not say: "It's the Caribbean, naturally that it's wonderfull", but also every corner has magic in it, since the time I was there, I feel myself a little more happy. In addition to more anecdotes that I would mention in another posts, everyone who could make your day a little bit more relaxed, give you a smile or helping you in everything that they could, they did. I don't know if this happens because of the weather, cause it's an island and in the end the treatment is closer or because we were Spanish and they liked us, but certainly I've never visited a place where the people were most human. And that, at least, it's what we need in the world.
